Antonio Heredia e Manuel Fernández

Antonio Serrano

Antonio Heredia and Manuel Fernández are two musicians from Granada, deeply connected to the tradition of flamenco and its roots. Both originating from the Sacromonte, one of the most iconic neighborhoods in the city, they live and breathe the essence of this art that for centuries has represented the soul of Andalusia. Sacromonte, with its caves that once housed the gypsy community, is the beating heart of a musical tradition that blends Arabic, Jewish, and gypsy influences, creating a unique expression that has conquered the world.

Antonio Heredia, a highly talented cantaor, was raised in a family of flamencos, where the passion for cante was passed down from father to son. His father, Benjamin, was a key figure in his artistic journey, taking him to local peñas, such as the historic Platería, from a very young age to refine his style. At the age of 19, Antonio began his career in the tablaos of Granada, and since then, his powerful and captivating voice has won over audiences, leading him to collaborate with notable figures like Los Farruco and Belén López.

Manuel Fernández, a flamenco guitarist, began playing the guitar at the age of 7. He has taken his music to Europe, Asia, and the United States, performing at prestigious festivals and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the scene, including El Farru and Antonio Canales. His unmistakable style and unique “touch” that characterizes his guitar are fundamental to the intensity and depth of flamenco.

Together, Antonio and Manuel present an emotional journey that explores the roots of flamenco, a music born from the encounter of different cultures and telling stories of life, strong passions, joys, and sufferings. Flamenco is the highest expression of Andalusian folk art, capable of expressing deep and universal emotions through cante jondo, guitar, and dance. Each style of flamenco – such as Seguiriya, Alegría, or Bulería – tells a story of daily life, tied to the rural world, with an emotional impact that leaves no one indifferent.

The project of Antonio Heredia and Manuel Fernández takes the audience to the heart of flamenco, discovering a tradition rooted in Sacromonte, symbolizing the meeting of cultures and a music that continues to live and move the world. An experience that transcends temporal and geographical boundaries, immersing in the authenticity of a timeless art.
